Greg Tao, founder of OttoClave, shares his story behind OttoClave with Kopernik.

OttoClave began on the principal that it’s a fundamental right to have access to a basic standard of care, no matter where you were born, or how much money your parents have.

During my previous field assignment, I worked with Pekka to train the Pekka members (who are all women heads of households) on the proper usage, maintenance, repair, and warranty system of the technologies they had purchased from Kopernik.

Today is the International Day of the Girl, a day declared by the United Nations to recognize the unique challenges girls face around the world. In honor of this very special day, we’d like to highlight a few challenges of and efforts by girls living in the last mile of the developing world. And, how you can take action!

While we are normally not ones to brag, we shall make an exception to proclaim that we have quite the eye for talent. Last week Kopernik bid farewell to two very talented team members: Project Officer Cindy Nawilis and Fellow Olga Permanyer. And, because we place considerable care in assessing and documenting impact, this blog is dedicated to Cindy and Olga’s considerable impact at Kopernik.

This is the best thing you can buy to drink fresh, clean water. I was out on a hunting trip and there was no water around, not even any swamps or anything, but I did have my lifestraw, so what i did was i took a pee in a cup and i drink it with my lifestraw, it had to be the best tasting pee i have ever had... cleaned it completely!

I was able to save a lot of time and trouble by finding the cleanest water source and siphoning it via this product. The Lifestraw is very easy to use and self explanatory. It filters out most of the bad things found in waters but not the taste.
