The safe birth kits will be available to poor women in Ghana. The beneficiaries are selected as a part of the developed and approved project plan that assures a fair/equal distribution, accountability and evaluation.
In the initial phase of the project, Birthing Project USA will work together with organization partners who are also implementing birthing projects, so that information on local demography on numbers of births, midwives, birth attendants, and kits needed can be obtained. The kits will then be distributed to local clinics by designated maternal and child health personnel at the village level.
