Safe drinking water, smart design at a very affordable price. This water filter has two water containers (both 13.5 litres) and one ceramic water filter candle in the middle. Gravity pushes the water through the filter. The containers are made of food grade plastic that does not leave taste or odour to the water. The filter comes with a tap and a manual in the language of choice. The water filter can be provided with one, two or three filter candles. Depending on the need and the amount of water that needs to be filtered per day more candles could be used.
“This is a really cost-effective product that improves health and economic wellbeing. There is a high demand for them in East Java because people here have high level of awareness of health issues related to dirty untreated water. So they immediately see the benefit of using the water filters. The water filters also save people money and time and pay back for itself very quickly. Because of this, people are not hesitant about buying it. That's a good thing for the women tech agents in our project: they have no problems selling the water filters and are able to generate extra income consistently.”
