Delivering simple solutions to reduce poverty in the last mile is at the core of Kopernik’s mission. Our projects achieve this in two ways:

First, our tech distribution projects source existing simple, yet impactful technologies and connect them with people in remote communities.

Second, our new experimental projects are small-scale, low-investment tests of simple ideas that have the potential to reduce poverty. We are initiating these projects because new solutions are needed to address persistent development challenges - solutions which engage new actors, use new approaches - or existing approaches in a new context - technologies as well as lessons from behavioural science that have the potential to deliver high social impact to address the stubborn challenges of poverty. If the results from the experimental projects are promising, we will then move to implementation at a larger scale. These projects are therefore an important step towards finding successful solutions that we hope will lead to eventual scale-up for maximum impact.
