Julia Cheng, Founding Principal of CyberlawStudio, is a transactional attorney with over 13 years of experience specializing in general corporate, nonprofit, technology and new media matters.

Julia Cheng, Founding Principal of CyberlawStudio, is a transactional attorney with over 13 years of experience specializing in general corporate, nonprofit, technology and new media matters. Julia started her legal career at the Wall Street law firm of Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft and served as the general counsel of a technology startup. Through her practice, Julia works extensively with foreign and domestic startup and established businesses and nonprofits in their dealings with entities such as BMG, NBC, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Time Inc., Pepsi, sophisticated investors such as Icahn Ventures, A-Grade Investments (co-founded by Ashton Kutcher), Joi Ito (Director of MIT Media Lab) and the East Timor government. Julia has been a frequent speaker at NAPABA, American Bar Association, NY City Bar Association and other conferences and serves on the board of Out In Tech, the largest LGBT tech community based in New York. Julia received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University. Julia grew up in Japan and Taiwan and currently spends her time between New York and California.
