Our Solutions Lab team conduct lean experiments of innovative and promising solutions to problems faced by people living in the last mile.

Through our extensive network, in last mile contexts, we experiment with technology driven solutions - physical or ICT (information and communication technologies) - or other approaches inspired by behavioral insights to test their effectiveness in reducing poverty.

Central to our approach is testing solutions and measuring impact in an efficient and rigorous, though not necessarily statistically significant, manner. We believe that lean research methods are appropriate to the types and maturity of interventions we focus on. They are complementary to other methods, such as randomized control trials (RCT), and build a much-needed pipeline of promising solutions that deserve larger-scale testing and evidence collection.

Therefore our experimentation projects and data sets are generally small-scale, low-investment tests of promising ideas.
