Celebrating 7 Years of Serving the Last Mile

Celebrating 7 Years of Serving the Last Mile

On 19 February, the famous mathematician and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus celebrated his 544th birthday.

On the very same day this year - like its namesake - Kopernik also had a birthday and turned seven!

What began as a team of two in a home office is now an organisation of 80 people spread across 11 offices in Indonesia and Japan. We’ve come a long way on our journey to find what works in poverty reduction; from distributing life-changing technologies, to experimenting with new and innovative ideas to address common challenges people living in the last mile experience. In seven years, we have helped change lives for more than 400,000 people.

We’d like to say a huge ‘Kopernik thank you’ to you for accompanying us on this seven-year journey and we hope you’ll continue supporting us to make 2017 a year of even greater impact.

Following on the success of our anniversary celebration last year, the K-Day, this year we want to do it again!

At this event, we’re excited to share our latest research that highlights opportunities for effective, practical solutions that can improve farming processes and improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers in Indonesia.

Speakers from Dian Desa - a community development NGO with a special focus on the adoption of appropriate technology - and Big Tree Farms - Bali’s sustainable chocolate factory working to improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers - will be discussing the gaps in the post-harvest processes, followed by an open discussion about how we might address these challenges together.

Come and learn more about our new project work in Bali and beyond. We’ll follow the discussion with performances by our line up of environmentally and socially conscious musicians: NaviculaSandrayati FayRizal Abdulhadi, and Raditomo.

If you are interested in attending the report launch event which will start at 4.30pm, please RSVP by 8 March 2017 and confirm to feby.ramadhani@kopernik.info or +62 818 678 378.
