THE POSITION

Location: Ubud, Bali

The Solutions Lab team focuses on rapid experimentation of promising solutions to problems faced by people living in the last mile. These solutions may be technology-driven (physical or digital) or approaches inspired by behavioral insights.

The Associate Director will work within the Solutions Lab team to manage the design and implementation of experiments and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the full Solutions Lab project portfolio from concept/proposal development to execution until reporting and closure.
  • Lead, mentor and support the Solutions Lab team.
  • Design and implement systems and processes to implement Solutions Lab activities.
  • Contribute to Kopernik’s strategic direction as part of the organization’s leadership team.
  • Represent Kopernik and in line with Kopernik culture internally and externally.
  • Nurture the Solutions Lab team and strengthen team capacity.
  • Fully take charge of client/donor communication including quality control of reports.
  • Mobilize funding for the Solutions Lab team and the organization as a whole.
  • Ensure the team has a supportive environment for designing and conducting high-quality experiments.
  • Cultivate and manage client and partner relationships.
  • Understand client needs and develop scope of work, work plans and budgets for solutions lab projects.
  • Collaborate with other teams in Kopernik.
  • Support the team in data collection, analysis and report writing processes.
  • Develop new business opportunities with development organizations, technology developers, academic partners and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to incoming correspondence from existing and potential Solutions Lab partners.
  • Undertake other tasks as required.


REQUIREMENTS

  • A Postgraduate degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as development studies, social innovation, applied science, environmental, mechanical, industrial or civil engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience in the non-profit or development sector.
  • Advanced work experience in social innovation, project management, research and development, prototype development, product design, and management
  • Work experience with development aid agencies is preferred.
  • Language proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

The expected remuneration for this position is IDR 22,000,000 to IDR 35,000,000 (depending on the experience and qualification of the successful candidate) and other benefits.
