Sergina Loncle

Associate Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives

With her extensive experience working in many development projects for more than 10 years and her passion in communications for development (C4D), Sergina leads our Communications and Strategic Initiatives Team.

Sergina has a strong interest in social and environmental justice, community development, and women’s empowerment since her undergraduate studies in theology. She has worked in many development projects for more than 10 years, from community-based projects, advocacy, disability rights, gender and disability, social and environmental justice, art for social change, women’s empowerment, until emergency response with local and international NGOs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the United States. This professional experience motivated her to pursue a Masters in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University, with a specialization in women's, gender, and sexuality studies. With her extensive experience and her passion in using communications strategies and tools to shift social norms, to change behavior, and to amplify the voices that are needed to address the persistent development challenges the world faces today, she enthusiastically leads Kopernik's Communications and Strategic Initiatives Team, promoting Kopernik’s mission, managing Pulau Plastik project, and strengthening our brand and credibility in order to communicate Kopernik’s work with evidence. She loves traveling and cultural exchange, meeting new people, sharing stories, and hunting for local ethnic costumes and fabrics.
