Sergina Loncle

Senior Director of Communications & Community Initiatives

With her extensive experience working on numerous development projects for over 15 years and her passion for communications for development (C4D), Sergina leads our Communications and Community Initiatives teams.

Sergina has a strong interest in social and environmental justice, community development, and women’s empowerment since her undergraduate studies in theology. She has worked on many development projects for more than 15 years, ranging from community-based projects, advocacy, disability rights, gender and disability, social and environmental justice, art for social change, women’s empowerment, to emergency response with local and international NGOs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the United States. This professional experience motivated her to pursue a Master's in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University, with a specialization in women's, gender, and sexuality studies. With her extensive experience and her passion for using communication strategies and tools to shift social norms, change behavior, and amplify the voices needed to address social and environmental issues, she enthusiastically leads Kopernik's Communications and Community Initiatives teams, promoting Kopernik’s mission and overseeing some community initiatives within the organization, including its flagship Wonder Women, PANGAN, and IKLIM initiatives. She loves traveling and diving and is an avid learner of anything related to sustainable living and how to be a more conscious consumer.
