Sergina Loncle

Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives

With her extensive experience working in many development projects for more than 15 years and her passion in communications for development (C4D), Sergina leads our Communications and Strategic Initiatives Team.

Sergina has a strong interest in social and environmental justice, community development, and women’s empowerment since her undergraduate studies in theology. She has worked in many development projects for more than 15 years, from community-based projects, advocacy, disability rights, gender and disability, social and environmental justice, art for social change, women’s empowerment, until emergency response with local and international NGOs in Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the United States. This professional experience motivated her to pursue a Masters in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University, with a specialization in women's, gender, and sexuality studies. With her extensive experience and her passion in using communications strategies and tools to shift social norms, to change behavior, and to amplify the voices that are needed to address social and environmental issues, she enthusiastically leads Kopernik's Communications & Strategic Initiatives Team, promoting Kopernik’s mission and overseeing some strategic initiatives within the organization including Wonder Women, Pulau Plastik, VR for SDGs, and Stunting Prevention initiatives. She loves travelling and diving, and is an avid learner of anything related to sustainable living and how to be a more conscious consumer.
