Kopernik is supporting communities affected by the extreme flooding across Bali, through the distribution of emergency supplies and shelter kits.
THE PROBLEM
Torrential rain between 8 and 10 September 2025 has triggered flooding and severely impacted many districts across Bali. Market sellers and shop owners in Badung and Kumbasari market in Denpasar are among the most impacted communities due to this natural disaster. As of 10 September 2025, the District Disaster Management Board reported the following damage:
Flooding across Bali has claimed nine lives; two people remain missing under search and rescue.
- Flooding reported at over 123 locations.
- Landslides occurred at more than 18 sites.
- Sixteen houses were destroyed or collapsed.
- Three bridges collapsed.
- Over 100 residents evacuated.
- More than 250 vendors at Denpasar’s Kumbasari Market lost their stalls.

THE SOLUTION
Kopernik is providing emergency supplies and shelter kits to the affected communities in partnership with BPBD Bali. The kits comprise the following:
Shelter and hygiene kits for households:
- 100 mattresses
- 100 ropes (6 mm, 20 cm)
- 100 tarpaulins
- 100 blankets
- 100 buckets (12 L, with lids)
- 100 floor mats
- 250 toothbrushes
- 250 towels (150 × 70 cm)
- 250 sarongs
- 250 bars of soaps
- 250 bottles of shampoo
Recovery kits for Kumbasari Market vendors:
- 250 mops
- 250 rubber squeegee floor wipers
- 250 table towels

THE EXPECTED IMPACT
This response is expected to reach more than 900 people from more than 350 households in Bali who have been heavily impacted by the flooding.
